Do you know when it was built? Please contact me at progden@att.net.
Thank you. Thank you for your information about Mr. Lankershim. Very interesting! My grandchildren live in Nichols Canyon and we often hike up to the monument for the view. It's great.
progdenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03624286907654825459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3633816278415014207.post-21905348037215024452012-08-20T17:12:10.570-07:002012-08-20T17:12:10.570-07:00@highlandpark said...

The location is a nice viewpoint (though trees planted by neighbors have obscured most of the view to the west).

From the site, you can see tour buses stopping on Mulholland to point out the old Errol Flynn estate. I don't think the tourists notice the monument, though it is visible from Mulholland.

My house is shaded from the hot afternoon sun by 130-year-old walnut trees that were part of the Lankershim Ranch Land & Water Co.'s fruit- and nut-tree orchard subdivision.

Thanks again for the post.Glenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09723293907305283147noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3633816278415014207.post-1242319997327934272012-04-15T21:43:37.363-07:002012-04-15T21:43:37.363-07:00george underwood was scoutmaster of bsa troop 31 h...george underwood was scoutmaster of bsa troop 31 hollywood, which for many years maintained the monumentMichael Renlynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3633816278415014207.post-7128813972922456012011-04-01T13:04:57.104-07:002011-04-01T13:04:57.104-07:00this a great landmark. i thought i was the only wh...this a great landmark. i thought i was the only who knew of this view. great blog btw :-)Los angeles Loftshttp://www.213loftcompany.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3633816278415014207.post-15451275739624356462010-07-14T08:42:17.516-07:002010-07-14T08:42:17.516-07:00Been there a few times, nice view.
